What do to in the event of an emergency
Richmond is a safe place to live and work, but emergencies can occur. If you find yourself involved in an emergency, try to remain calm.
What to do
What you should do in an emergency:
- If people are injured, or if there is a threat to life or property, telephone 999 to alert the Emergency Services
- Check yourself for injuries - remember to tend to yourself before trying to help others
- Move to a safe place and do not put yourself or others in danger
- Follow the advice of the emergency services
Who to contact
If there is an emergency that could cause harm to people or property, telephone the emergency services on 999 immediately.
For less urgent emergencies, telephone the Council's 24-hour Emergency Control on 020 8891 7999. Duty Officers can be reached via Emergency Control.
