Sheen Lane Centre venue hire

Suitability

Sheen Lane Centre is a modern purpose-built community hall and is suitable for a wide variety of functions:

• Dinner dances
• Parties
• Meetings
• Concerts
• Community events
• Exhibitions

All rooms are on the ground floor with access for the disabled.

Availability

Sheen Lane Centre is available for hire:

• Monday to Thursday - 9am to 11pm
• Friday and Saturday - 9am to 11.30pm
• Sunday - 10am to 6pm

Layout and amenities

There is a large hall which can be divided into two smaller areas. 

The whole hall is 19 metres by 14 metres. It can be split into two smaller sections. The maximum numbers are:

• 300 people theatre style
• 200 for a formal dinner for the Large Hall
• 180 people theatre style
• 120 for a formal dinner for the Stage End
• 95 people theatre style
• 80 for a formal dinner for the Small Hall

Bringing equipment

You are permitted to bring items of play equipment on to the property but do so entirely at your own risk. No liability will be accepted by the council in respect of claims arising from loss or damage to privately owned equipment or arising from its use.

No personally owned items of play equipment must be allowed to block doorways, passageways, entrances and exits and the hirer is required to remove any item of equipment we consider to be causing an obstruction or hazard.

Catering

External caterers are welcome.

Tables and chairs

Tables and chairs are provided but you, or your caterer, will need to provide all the linen, crockery, cutlery, glassware and cooking/serving utensils.

Kitchen facilities

When hiring the whole hall or the stage end there is also a small kitchen available for use. This is not available with hire of the small hall.

• Hotplates
• Small domestic oven
• Small fridge
• Work surface area

Serving alcohol

You are welcome to provide alcohol to your guests free of charge and we do not charge a corkage fee. If you wish to have a pay bar, then you must hire our approved bar supplier. Please contact a Lettings Officer for bar supplier details. If you are organising a charity event contact us for information on a Temporary Event Notice.

Getting here

Mortlake Station is nearby in Sheen Lane and a number of buses serve the area.

There is a public pay and display car park outside of the hall which has 40 spaces (2 disabled). There is a maximum stay of 3 hours, Monday to Friday, between 9.30am to 6pm. Further information can be found on the car parks page.
