Parking charges review 2025
We carry out annual reviews of our parking charges.
How we decide our charges
We take into account factors such as:
- Charges in other boroughs
- The current rate of inflation
- Whether the level and structure of parking charges reflects our policy on encouraging the use of more sustainable forms of transport such as cycling and walking
We also aim to recover the cost of the service provision, so there is no need for further taxpayer subsidy.
Changes this year
Following this year's review, new parking charges were implemented on Tuesday 1 July 2025.
It was noted that some parking locations had unfortunately not been increased in line with our fee and charge increases from previous years. Following a comprehensive review of all locations, these have now been brought into line with the current charges to ensure consistency across the borough.
As part of the changes, the 50% discount for Band A vehicles was discontinued. Read the letter informing registered owners of Band A vehicles about this change.
