Barn Elms Playing Field

The site is one of the borough's major areas for sport pitches, and is now managed by Barn Elms Sports Trust.

About the park

Barn Elms has facilities for athletics, rugby, football, hockey, cricket, baseball, tennis and a state of the art pavilion and changing rooms.

There is a small fishing lake, managed by Barnes & Mortlake Angling and Preservation Society, near the athletics track.

At the north of the site, within a small woodland area, there is a glade, used for camping by Scouts and Guides.

Facilities include:

  • Car parking
  • Changing rooms
  • Cricket pitches
  • Football pitches (junior and full)
  • Tennis courts
  • Play facilities for children up to 13

Visiting the park

There is car parking available at the playing fields, but the facility is also accessible by train to Barnes, or by bus on routes 33, 72, 209, 283 and 485.

The site is externally managed, so you should check the Barn Elms Sports Trust website for opening times before you visit.

Public Space Protection Orders and byelaws

All council-managed parks and open spaces are covered by Public Space Protection Orders and formal byelaws, to help us reduce antisocial behaviour and breaches of dog control orders.
