Kew Green
Kew Green, Richmond, TW9 3BH Map
This village green is a popular spot for both community and sporting events, especially during the summer.
About the park
Within walking distance of the River Thames, the green acts as a good starting point for a rambling walk along the towpath. There is also a cricket pitch which is used frequently during the summer.
At the North East corner of Kew Green is Kew Pond. This old horse pond is now an attractive local feature thanks to volunteers from the Friends of Kew Pond who planted the island and pond edges, creating habitat for a range of water birds. The water level is managed by a sluice gate that allows river water to fill the pond via an underground channel during high spring tide.
