Parks opening times

Most parks can be accessed at all times, however there are several parks that are locked from dusk until dawn.

Locked parks

Locked parks in the borough:

• Carlisle Park
• Castelnau Recreation Ground
• Grove Gardens
• North Sheen Recreation Ground
• York House Gardens

Opening times 2026

All locked parks will be opened by 7.30am from Monday to Saturday and by 9am on Sundays and bank holidays.

Closing times vary depending on the time of year.

Parks may be closed up to 20 minutes before the stated locking time. We ask everyone to cooperate with our contractors and leave promptly. Any entry into our parks after the stated locking times will be classed as unauthorised access and may be subject to enforcement action.

February

Parks close by:

• 5pm on weeks commencing 2 and 9 February
• 5.30pm on weeks commencing 16 and 23 February

March

Parks close by:

• 5.30pm on week commencing 2 March
• 6pm on weeks commencing 9 and 16 March
• 6.30pm on 23 to 28 March
• 7.30pm on 29 to 31 March

April

Parks close at:

• 7.30pm on weeks commencing 1 and 6 April
• 8pm on weeks commencing 13 and 20 April
• 8.30pm on week commencing 27 April

May

Parks close by:

• 8.30pm on weeks commencing 4 and 11 May
• 9pm on weeks commencing 18 and 25 May

June

Parks close by:

• 9pm on weeks commencing 1 and 8 June
• 9.30pm on weeks commencing 15, 22 and 29 June

July

Parks close by:

• 9.30pm on week commencing 1 and 6 July
• 9pm on weeks commencing 13, 20 and 27 July

August

Parks close by:

• 8.30pm on weeks commencing 4 and 11 August
• 8pm on weeks commencing 18, 25 and 31 August

September

Parks close by:

• 7.30pm on weeks commencing 7 September
• 7pm on weeks commencing 14, 21 and 28 September

October

Parks close by:

• 6.30pm on week commencing 1 and 5 October
• 6pm on 12, 19 to 24 October
• 5pm on 25 to 31 October

November

Parks close by:

• 4.30pm on weeks 2 and 9 November
• 4pm on weeks commencing 16, 23 and 30 November

December

All parks will close by 4pm during December.

At Twickenham Rough, the Marsh Farm gate is locked before the London Road gate. If you are locked in at the Marsh Farm gate please return to the London Road entrance. If the London Road gate is locked, call 020 8891 1411.
