Parks opening times

Most parks can be accessed at all times, however there are several parks that are locked from dusk until dawn.

Unlocked parks trial

From 1 September to 1 December 2024 we will be trialling leaving eleven of our parks unlocked.

The following parks will be unlocked during the three-month trial period:

• Vine Road
• Westerley Ware
• Alpha Road
• Carlisle Park
• Castelnau Recreation Ground
• Champions Wharf
• Garricks Temple
• Grimwood Road
• Grove Gardens
• North Sheen Recreation Ground
• The Kings Field

Locked parks

The following parks are not participating in the trial and will remain locked between dusk and dawn:

• Carlisle Park
• Grove Gardens
• Twickenham Rough
• York House Gardens

Opening times 2024

All locked parks will be opened by 7.30am from Monday to Saturday and by 9am on Sundays and bank holidays.

Closing times vary depending on the time of year.

Parks may be closed up to 20 minutes before the stated locking time. We ask everyone to cooperate with our contractors and leave promptly. Any entry into our parks after the stated locking times will be classed as unauthorised access and may be subject to enforcement action.

Parks close by:

• 4pm on weeks commencing 1 and 8 January
• 4.40pm on weeks commencing 15, 22 and 29 January

February

Parks close by:

• 5pm on weeks commencing 5 and 12 February
• 5.30pm on weeks commencing 19 and 26 February

March

Parks close by:

• 5.30pm on week commencing 4 March
• 6pm on weeks commencing 11 and 18 March
• 6.30pm on week commencing 25 March

April

Parks close at:

• 7.30pm on week commencing 1 April
• 8pm on weeks commencing 8, 15 and 22 April
• 8.30pm on week commencing 29 April

May

Parks close by:

• 8.30pm on week commencing 6 May
• 9pm on weeks commencing 13, 20 and 27 May

June

Parks close by:

• 9pm on weeks commencing 3 and 10 June
• 9.30pm on weeks commencing 17 and 24 June

July

Parks close by:

• 9.30pm on week commencing 1 July
• 9pm on weeks commencing 8, 15, 22 and 29 July

August

Parks close by:

• 8.30pm on week commencing 5 August
• 8pm on weeks commencing 12, 19 and 26 August

September

Parks close by:

• 7.30pm on week commencing 2 September
• 7pm on weeks commencing 9, 16 and 23 September
• 6.30pm on week commencing 30 September

October

Parks close by:

• 6.30pm on week commencing 1 October
• 6pm on weeks commencing 7 and 14 October
• 5.30pm on week commencing 21 October
• 4.30pm on week commencing 28 October

November

Parks close by:

• 4.30pm on week commencing 4 November
• 4pm on weeks commencing 11, 18 and 25 November

December

All parks will close by 4pm during December.

At Twickenham Rough, the Marsh Farm gate is locked before the London Road gate. If you are locked in at the Marsh Farm gate please return to the London Road entrance. If the London Road gate is locked, call 020 8891 1411.
