Street condition survey
If you have been granted planning permission for work on your property, you will need to arrange a street condition survey (also known as a pre-commencement survey) before any work starts.
Why it is needed
The survey is to ensure that the public footway is not damaged as a consequence of any works taking place, for example cracked paving caused during material deliveries, or damage caused by machinery or vehicles crossing or parking on the footway.
How it works
The survey is carried out by one of our highways Street Environment Inspectors and primarily consists of a photographic survey of any cracked or broken paving and the general condition of the footway around your property.
If any damage occurs whilst works are ongoing, the area will be made safe by our contractor and a permanent repair carried out at the end of the works. The cost for this repair will be met by the property owner or person(s) responsible for the damage.
Arrange a survey
To arrange a street condition survey, submit the form below and give us your property address and contact details.
Once this form has been submitted an officer will contact you within three working days to arrange the inspection.
Failure to arrange a survey means you could be charged the full cost of repair for damage to the public footway caused by your activities.
