Our Stop Smoking Service can help you quit smoking.

If you live or work in Richmond, and you are aged 15 or over, we’re here to help you quit smoking for good. Our service is free and offers advice, support, and access to stop smoking medications.

Do you smoke and want to quit? Have you tried multiple times to stop but never managed to? Do you normally go it alone? Do you want to have more energy and feel free?

If you’re finding yourself in a repeated stop-start smoking cycle, then tailored advice from a Stop Smoking Advisor and stop smoking aids such as a vape, could see you successfully quit smoking for good.

Our services

We offer a range of services to Richmond residents, including:

  • Tailored one-to-one support, from an experienced and friendly Stop Smoking Advisor, in-person or over the phone
  • Tips on managing withdrawal symptoms and coping with smoking triggers
  • Regular carbon monoxide checks
  • Accurate information on what to expect when trying to quit and how to deal with difficult situations
  • Access to stop smoking medications and guidance on their use
  • Free nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) including patches, lozenges, oral spray, nasal spray
  • Swap to Stop Smoking - access to a free vape kit and vape supplies for up to 12 weeks. For adults aged 18 and over only

Swap to Stop Smoking

Evidence to date shows that e-cigarettes are substantially less harmful than cigarettes and can be effective for helping people quit smoking.

Swap to Stop Smoking combines personalised behavioural advice with a free vape kit and supplies for up to 12 weeks.

If you are an adult who smokes, our Stop Smoking Service can advise whether vaping is a suitable option for you and provide support to help you stop smoking.

This service is for adults aged 18 and over only.

Local support sessions

We offer weekly stop smoking support sessions at Twickenham Civic Centre and St George’s Hospital.

Twickenham Civic Centre

Drop in to speak to a Stop Smoking Advisor. No appointment is needed.

  • Time: 10am to 3pm
  • Location: Twickenham Civic Centre, Ground Floor, Interview Room 3, 44 York Street, Twickenham, TW1 3BZ

In rare cases a support session may not go ahead. Contact the Twickenham Civic Centre on 020 8891 1411 to check if the session is taking place.

St George’s Hospital

Book a face to face appointment by calling 020 8725 4234 or emailing smokingcessation@stgeorges.nhs.uk.
