Product identifiers    
Giro Merit Helmets (which can be identified by looking on the outside of the helmet for the model name "Merit" or by looking at the inner helmet stickers with helmet information like the model name "Merit" and the alphanumeric indicator GH230) manufactured prior to February 2023.

Hazard
Giro has reason to believe that there is a risk of the helmet straps on certain Giro Merit Helmets manufactured prior to January 2023 disengaging with the helmet when pulled with relatively little force, posing a risk of injury to the user in a crash.

Corrective action
Recall of the product from end users. Further information about the recall can be found on the Giro website.
