Hazard
The top guard does not provide adequate prevention of access to the noncutting parts behind, above or at the sides of the fence.

The size and rigidity of the fence pressure plate may also not be sufficient to reduce kick-back. Users may be exposed to a risk of injury from contact with moving cutters and ejected parts.

BS EN ISO 19085-6:2017 - which gives the safety requirements and measures for stationary and displaceable hand-fed single spindle vertical moulding machines, has not been met. Therefore, the machine does not appear to satisfy EHSR 1.3.7 (risks related to moving parts) and 1.3.3 (risks due to ejected parts) of the Supply of Machinery Safety Regulations 2008

Corrective action
The product has been withdrawn from the market.

A new guard and pressure plate has been designed.

Existing users have been contacted by the manufacturer to notify them of the risks and the availability of replacement parts, and to provide updated user instructions.
