Product description
Mast Climbing Work Platforms are used where high-level access and maintenance are required, for example to lift people and equipment undertaking work on tall buildings. They comprise of a powered work platform attached to one or more vertical masts. The drive is provided by two electric motors fitted with centrifugal brakes which slow the platform if the speed of descent is exceeded. The drive unit moves up and down the mast.
The manufacturer's plate refers to model SCP230/9D but the certificates refer to model SCP200/12D. This report relates to all products with either of these identifiers.

Hazard
There is a serious risk of platforms falling in an uncontrolled manner which could result in serious or fatal injuries.
The Mast Climbing Work Platforms did not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.
