Libraries for life

Sustainable choices made easy at your local library. If you want to do more to contribute to climate goals, why not borrow, rather than buy, more
books? It’s free and reduces your carbon footprint.

Public libraries pioneered the concept of sharing and reusing resources. Regular use of your local library service can make us all healthier, happier, and our borough more sustainable. Help us deliver on our commitment to the Green Libraries Manifesto.

Use your local library to make a difference:

  • Borrow, read, and return your books to share resources with our community
  • Paper free reading with thousands of eBooks, eAudiobooks, comics, digital magazines, and newspapers
  • Visit your local library by walking, cycling, and using public transport
  • Recycle your small electrical items and batteries at most local libraries
