Christmas and New Year waste and recycling collections

Your waste and recycling collections will change over the festive period. There will also be changes to garden waste collections, and we will be offering Christmas tree collections.

Waste and recycling collections

We will be running a revised collection schedule from Wednesday 25 December 2024 to Saturday 4 January 2025.

Bulky waste

Bulky waste collections will be suspended between Monday 23 December 2024 and Friday 3 January 2025.

Garden waste

Garden waste collections will be suspended from Monday 6 to Friday 17 January 2025. Collections will resume on Monday 20 January.

Food waste

To support food waste recycling during the holidays, residents who receive this service can pick up a free roll of compostable caddy liners from their local library or the Civic Centre in Twickenham.

Christmas tree recycling

We offer both a drop off and collection service for real Christmas trees. Find out more about Christmas tree recycling.

The Christmas tree collection service was enhanced in 2024 to include the ability for residents to report an abandoned tree or fly tipped tree. It included GIS to pinpoint the tree’s location and the ability to upload a photograph. This worked well and will be repeated in January 2025.
