21 January 2025
Health bus cancelled
The health bus has been cancelled today (24 January) due to a mechanical issue with the bus. It will not visit Nelson Road car park.
See the health bus page for updates and future dates.
Free health checks and advice
If you are between 40 and 74, you’ll be able to get a free 20-minute NHS Health Check from a local pharmacists without needing to book an appointment.
This can help to detect early signs of common heart-related problems like heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, dementia and kidney disease before they become a bigger issue.
Or, simply drop by for a quick blood pressure check and any questions you have about medications or general healthy living. Our experts are ready to offer guidance and practical tips tailored to your needs.
Personalised stop smoking support
We have friendly Stop Smoking Advisors on each Health Bus. They offer:
- Free, personalised one-to-one consultations
- Nicotine replacement therapies
- Tips on managing withdrawal symptoms and triggers
- Free vape kits paired with 12 weeks of behavioural support as part of the Swap to Stop Scheme (only for adults 18+ who smoke regularly).
Evidence shows that people are more likely to succeed with professional support. If you can’t attend the bus, pop by our drop-in clinics hosted every Monday from 10am to 3pm at the Twickenham Civic Centre, or submit a quick enquiry form to be contacted directly by an advisor.
