Move more, pay less: Fairer Access Scheme expanded

We have expanded our Fairer Access Scheme to ensure no one is priced out of moving more at our leisure facilities to keep fit and healthy.
The benefits of the Fairer Access Scheme include:
- No joining fee on direct debit and annual memberships
- 60% discount on pay as you go adult swimming and gym sessions
- Free general swimming for children of parents with a concession Richmond Card - available for indoor general swimming sessions only
- 40% discount on junior coached activities - excludes swimming lessons
- A free concession Richmond Card
You can apply for a concession Richmond Card online or in person at one of our leisure centres.
We also offer a Fairer Access membership, which gives you access to all our leisure centres and includes gym access, fitness classes and swimming bookings. Eligible residents can access this for £30 a month if paying by direct debit, or £300 for the year - this works out as 12 months for the price of 10.
This scheme is one of our priorities in our new Leisure Strategy which aims to increase participation in sport, leisure and physical activity for everyone in the borough.
The scheme is open to Richmond residents who receive any of the following benefits:
- Job Seekers Allowance
- Income Support
- Housing Benefit
- Working Family Tax Credit
- Disability Allowance
- Carers Allowance
- Universal Credit
- Pension Credit
The Fairer Access Scheme is available at:
- Pools on the Park, Richmond
- Teddington Pools and Fitness Centre
- Shene Sports and Fitness Centre
- Whitton Sports and Fitness Centre
- Hampton Sports and Fitness Centre
- Teddington Sports Centre
Sanctuary seekers and people in emergency accommodation
Sanctuary seekers and people in emergency accommodation in the borough can apply for a free concession Richmond Card with an active leisure subscription, and receive free access to the following activities:
- General swimming sessions - indoor pools only
- Group exercise classes
- Gym sessions
