Move more for your mental health

14 May 2024

Richmond Moves will be joining Mental Health Awareness Week from 13 to 19 May to promote wellbeing through movement.

We are working to address the barriers residents face and encouraging you to introduce small but impactful movements into your daily routine.

Whether it's a leisurely stroll, some gardening on the warmer days or even chair exercises during your favourite TV show – any action you take contributes to better mental health.

That’s why we are sharing how you can take simple steps to become more active so you can enjoy the benefits of boosted energy levels, alleviated stress and anxiety, and improved strength and balance.

National Walking Month

As part of National Walking Month, Richmond Moves is encouraging the community to embrace the benefits of walking.

From walking trails that help you explore the borough with Visit Richmond to getting involved in Living Streets #Try20 challenge, there are plenty of opportunities for residents to move more.

Richmond Routes competition

We're also hosting the Richmond Routes Competition this May. Simply snap a photo while exploring any route around the borough and you could win four tickets to the WWT London Wetland Centre in Barnes.

A day in the Wetland Centre is a great way to boost your mood.
