Mayor and councillors join Albanian families at event in Hampton

The Mayor of Richmond, Cllr Richard Pyne, the Mayoress, and Cllr Nancy Baldwin and Cllr Elizabeth Gant attended a celebration event hosted by Albanian Heritage Club.

On Sunday 24 November, Albanian Heritage Club hosted a vibrant celebration at the White House Family Hub to celebrate the Independence Day of Albania. The event was filled with joy and cultural pride, featuring performances of traditional songs, dances and poems by the children of Albanian Heritage Club.

One of the parents commented: "Children are our pride and joy in showing the world our love for our ethnic Albanian culture here in Richmond upon Thames. I am proud that my children are part of this club." 

Albanian Heritage Club believes "Every Footprint Matters". They have achieved inspiring work and won ‘Community Group of The Year’ at our recent Community Heroes Awards and 'Volunteer of the Year' Award at BBC Make a Difference 2024. The remarkable success of the club reflects the resilience and trust of parents who have been supporting the local charity since its launch in May 2023 and recognising the value that the ethnic identity and cultural education bring to their children.
