Local Authority Assured Trader Scheme Network (LAATSN)

This links together schemes run by local authority Trading Standards Services which meet the standards required to become part of the Local Authority Assured Trader Scheme Network (LAATSN). Most schemes have been developed separately and vary in the details of how they work and the trades they cover; but all the LAATSN schemes have the common aims of:

• Giving Consumers a reliable way of finding businesses they can trust
• Offering a source of help and advice if things go wrong
• Enabling local businesses to demonstrate they work to national standards

Richmond Trading Standards currently do not run our own assured trader scheme although a number of schemes within the LAATSN may include traders who are either in the borough or are prepared to carry out work in the borough, e.g. Surrey's Buying with Confidence scheme.
