Halloween costume swap for kids!
Do you have costumes that your child has grown out of? Reluctant to spend money on an outfit that will only be worn once?
The week before Halloween we will be helping all witches, ghouls, and princesses to find their perfect look without resorting to fast fashion or eyeholes in an old bed
All costumes must be clean and suitable for children.

Citizen Science
Fancy becoming a scientist for the afternoon? Join this guided walk with a local scientist and get hands-on investigating the air around you using real citizen science techniques.
Back at the library, get creative! Make your own artwork (or add to our group piece) inspired by what you’ve discovered – think air pollution, future visions, or anything the walk sparks in you.
Bring the whole family! Suitable for all ages.

The secret world beneath our feet
A hands-on climate adventure!
Discover the amazing role healthy soil and trees play in fighting climate change. In this fun, hands-on session, children will explore living soil, meet fascinating mini-beasts like earthworms and woodlice, and learn how even the smallest creatures can make a big difference to our world.
Suitable for children aged five and above. Parents and carers must accompany children to ensure their safe enjoyment of the event.

Lego Club
Everyone loves making things with Lego! Design and build amazing creations and take part in fun Lego challenges. We provide the Lego, just bring your ideas and enthusiasm.
Open to children of all ages. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Free drop-in event. No booking required.

Chess and games after school club
Develop your skills and make new friends!
Discover the exciting world of chess and other strategy games such as Connect 4, Backgammon, Jenga, Chinese Checkers, Othello and more, under the guidance of friendly chess mentors.
Children of all levels and abilities are welcome, and mentoring is available if desired. Suitable for children aged 6+, accompanied by an adult.

Story time
Each library holds a weekly story time for under 6s. They are free and booking is not required.
Baby Rhyme Time
These free baby bounce and rhyme sessions are for very young children accompanied by adults.
Come join in the fun with songs, rhymes and stories - all are welcome.
Chatterbooks
If you live in the borough (or attend school here) and like books, read on! At these popular groups for 8 to 10 year olds we chat about books, play games and do quizzes. It is a great way to discover new authors and make new booky friends.
Chatterbooks groups meet once a month after school (term time only) and last about an hour.

Richmond Code Club
Richmond Code Club is a free coding club open to young people aged 7 to 17 with sessions on Scratch, HTML, Python, and using micro:bits.
