Bank holiday parking arrangements
Take special care where you park your cars over bank holidays.
Controlled parking zones (CPZ)
On bank holidays, drivers can park in designated marked-out Controlled Parking Zone bays for free without needing to buy a pay and display ticket, pay-by-phone or display a parking permit, unless they are parking within the below areas where parking charges include bank holidays:
- Zone A1 - Richmond Town
- Byfeld Gardens (Zone CB - Central Barnes)
- Zone H – Hampton Court
- Part Kew Road and Kew Gardens Road (Zone KA)
- Zone KC – North Kew
- Zone M1- Vicarage Road, Teddington
- Zone Z1 – Elleray Road, Teddington
- Zone Z2 – Ferry Road, Teddington
- Zone Z3 – Bracken Gardens, Barnes

Yellow line restrictions
Motorists should avoid yellow lines as these restrictions will still be in force. This is because yellow lines are normally situated at places where parked vehicles could cause a hazard or an obstruction.
Parking bays
If you leave your car in a parking bay that is only available for part of the day, you should check the signs carefully to avoid parking there when the yellow line restrictions come into force.
Driveways, specialist bays and dropped kerbs
Motorists who obstruct driveways or park unlawfully in mandatory disabled bays, doctor bays, car club bays, e-scooter/bicycle bays or electric charging bays may be penalised.
Similarly, drivers should not park across dropped kerbs. These are found on virtually every street corner and allow people who need to use wheelchairs or mobility scooters and parents with pushchairs to safely cross the road.
CCTV
CCTV enforcement of moving traffic contraventions will continue throughout the Easter period to ensure good accessibility and low congestion.
