Employment research
The planning system places an emphasis on undertaking research to inform planning policies. We have prepared and commissioned a number of studies which provide advice and information on employment land and premises.
Employment Land and Premises Needs Assessment 2021
We commissioned Stantec to undertake an Employment Land and Premises Needs Assessment 2021 (pdf, 4.0 MB) to inform the new Local Plan.
Stantec have also been commissioned to produce an update to the 2021 Assessment. The Employment Land and Premises Needs Assessment (2023) (pdf, 522 KB) should be read alongside the 2021 report and takes account of recent economic forecasts and data to ensure that the employment policies in the Plan are soundly based. The findings of both reports have informed the 'Publication' Regulation 19 Draft Local Plan.
