Sustainability Appraisal of Local Plan

The sustainability appraisal is integral to the plan-making process, to appraise the social, environmental and economic effects of a plan from the outset. This webpage sets out the stages in the process for various plans that have been produced.

Previous Sustainability Appraisal reports

• A draft SA Scoping Report(pdf, 1808KB) was first prepared in 2005 to support the production of the Core Strategy.
• The following consultation responses(pdf, 29KB) on the SA Scoping Report were taken into account and the SA Framework was amended in 2005.
• The previous Scoping Report was again revised and consulted on during 2011 in support of the preparation for the Twickenham Area Action Plan.
• A revised Scoping Report for the Twickenham Area Action Plan, taking account of all consultation responses, was published in 2011.
• For the purpose of the Site Allocations Plan, a Draft Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report(pdf, 7270KB) was prepared and consulted on in 2013.
• A revised Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report(pdf, 11331KB) was published in 2013, which took account of all responses received during the consultation(pdf, 102KB)
• Revised Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report (pdf, 3.4 MB) (May 2016) produced to support the preparation of the Local Plan
• Sustainability Appraisal of the Pre-Publication Local Plan (pdf, 1.4 MB) (July 2016)
• Sustainability Appraisal of the Publication Local Plan (pdf, 1.8 MB) (January 2017)
• Sustainability Appraisal Addendum of the Proposed Main Modifications (pdf, 972 KB) (December 2017) Local Plan Sustainability Appraisal Adoption Statement (pdf, 195 KB) (July 2018) and Addendum Sustainability Appraisal Adoption Statement (pdf, 132 KB) (March 2020).
• Draft Revised Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report for the Local Plan (pdf, 2.7 MB) (February 2020) was prepared and consulted on in 2020, alongside the Direction of Travel consultation to inform the preparation of a new Local Plan.
• A revised Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report (pdf, 2.8 MB) (July 2020) was published, which took account of all responses received during the consultation (pdf, 225 KB).
