17 – 24 year olds make up only 8% of UK licence holders, yet are involved in over 30% of all collisions.

We offer pre-driver classroom based lessons to 15-16 year olds in the borough through their schools. These lessons address some aspects of young drivers’ behaviour before they get behind the wheel themselves or become regular passengers with their driver friends. These lessons aim to reduce accidents amongst young drivers.

Information for parents of new drivers

We offer the new Good Egg Guide for Parents of New Drivers free to anyone who contacts us while stocks last. It provides guidance whether your son or daughter is thinking about learning to drive, taking lessons or just starting out on their driving career.

To obtain one of these free guides, email safety-education@richmond.gov.uk with your postal address.
