Request additional street lighting

Use this form to request additional street lighting on Richmond public highway. Lighting standards provided will be designed to the category recommend by the current British standard for road lighting.

Before you start

Before you submit your request, find out whether a road has already had a request for additional street lighting.

We will not assess lighting requests received in the following areas:

• Parks
• Open spaces
• Children's play areas  
• Playing fields
• Private roads or garage areas
• Public rights of way on private property or where the current level of street lighting already conforms to the British standard for road lighting

What happens next

The requested site will be surveyed to assess whether it is suitable for additional street lighting. We will contact you if we require additional information.

Lighting requests may be referred to the Ecology and Parks Officers for comment and refused if they are detrimental to the habitat for nocturnal wildlife.
