Feel Good Fitness membership agreement terms and conditions
The below updated terms and conditions will take effect from 1 April 2024:
Your membership is subject to the following conditions. Please ensure you read before signing the Direct Debit agreement.
In these terms and conditions 'the authority' means the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and ‘the centre’ means Teddington Pools & Fitness Centre, Whitton Sports and Fitness Centre, Shene Sports and Fitness Centre, Hampton Sports and Fitness Centre or Pools on the Park and 'online' means www.richmond.gov.uk. Any questions arising on the interpretation or application of these terms and conditions will be decided by the Direct Debit administrator, who reserves the right to vary in any way from time to time the terms and conditions. Any such variations will be published on the authority’s website and it is members’ responsibility to keep themselves informed on any published variations or the Terms and Conditions in a new redaction.
- Fees are payable in advance and will be collected by Direct Debit on the 28th day of each month.
- Cancellation of Direct Debit memberships should be made in writing to: Membership, Systems and Sales Officer, Sports and Fitness Services, Civic Centre, 44 York Street, Twickenham, TW1 3BZ, by completing a form at the centre, or online or by emailing: membershipadmin@richmond.gov.uk. Notice of the cancellation must be received before the 15th day of the month, otherwise the Direct Debit will still be drawn on the 28th day of that month and will be non-refundable. You must also cancel the Direct Debit instructions at your bank, as failure to do so may result in the continuation of your Direct Debit.
- If you cancel the Direct Debit, your membership (including leisure subscription) will terminate automatically at the end of the period you have paid for.
- You should adhere to the individual Centre’s code of conduct. The Authority reserves the right to expel you from the centre if your conduct is in our opinion, injurious to the character of the centre or if it is necessary to expel you in the interest of its users. If we expel you, we may terminate your membership and you will forfeit all privileges to and rights against the centre immediately and shall not be entitled to any repayment of your membership.
- Membership fees are reviewed in line with the Council's fees and charges.
- Annual pre-paid memberships are non-refundable. Memberships are not transferable and non-refundable. Richmond cards remain the property of the Authority which reserves the right to retain any Richmond card at any time without giving reason.
- The Authority reserves the right to refuse you admission without being obliged to give any reason.
- Opening hours and the programme of classes or sessions will be displayed at the centre and as far as possible advance notice will be given to any amendments. It may be necessary to close whole or part of the centre from time to time for maintenance, to comply with legislative requirements or for other reasons, and as far as possible advance notice will be given. No refunds will be given for these periods.
- Your membership card must:
- i) be shown on request on each visit, or an admission fee will be charged;
- ii) only be used by you and if misused, you may forfeit it and we may terminate your membership;
- iii) be presented on admission and be available for inspection whilst using the centre.
- You should ensure that you have completed an induction and a pre-exercise questionnaire before use of the fitness suite and are physically fit for and capable of any exercise undertaken within the Centre. Not all exercises are suitable for everyone and any exercise or class may result in injury. You accept the risk of injury from performing the normal routine of exercise. To reduce this risk, you should consult your doctor before beginning any exercise or class. It is your responsibility to obtain instructions on the correct use of any new equipment not currently available at the Centre.
- Please refer to separate terms and conditions for freezing and changing your membership. This can be found on the existing members page.
- No-show charges will be applied for unattended sessions or late cancellations in line with the No-show policy. Incurring a no-show charge will prevent booking and barrier access until the charge is paid for.
