Nominate an asset of community value

Use this form to nominate an asset for inclusion to the List of Assets of Community Value.

Before you start

You must confirm that your community group is eligible to nominate an asset. 

To be eligible, your group must have a local connection (for example, the group’s activities are wholly or partly concerned with Richmond or a neighbouring borough) and can be described as any of the following:

• A neighbourhood forum (as defined in Town and Country Planning Act 1990 s61F)
• A neighbouring parish council
• An unincorporated community group with at least 21 members who are on the electoral register in Richmond
• A charity
• A company limited by guarantee (which does not distribute any surplus it makes to its members)
• An industrial and provident society (which does not distribute any surplus made to their members)
• A community interest company

Before applying, make sure you have read and followed the criteria as set within the Assets of Community Value Regulations 2012.

You will need

In order for us to determine if your nomination is of community value, your application must contain:

• The address of the property
• Details of the owner (if known)
• The extent of the site
• Reasons why you feel it is an asset of community value

What happens next

Once we receive your nomination, we will send you an acknowledgement of your submission and check that the property satisfies the criteria for acceptance. A review panel will then consider your nomination, after which we will write to advise you of the panel's decision. We will notify you of the panel's decision eight weeks from the time you submit a nomination.
