Mortlake
Mortlake sits on the south bank of the River Thames between Kew and Barnes, with access to the tow path, the leisure opportunities afforded by the river and some lovely riverside pubs/restaurants. Mainly a residential area, its chief landmark is the Stag or Mortlake Brewery which dates back to the 15th century. Now disused, other than for occasional film shoots, it is due for extensive redevelopment.
Mortlake High Street is home to a small range of local, independent businesses and a business centre/workspace.
The East Sheen Business & Retail Association providing a valuable link between these and the community. Mortlake is covered by this remit.
Transport: Mortlake or Barnes Bridge train station and many bus routes
The Teddington Society
The Society was founded in 1973 by an enthusiastic group of residents, with a view to safeguarding our valued riverside town. Resolved to balance the interests of businesses and residents alike, we encourage both groups to take an active interest in our work of protecting Teddington’s quality of life and supporting local charitable causes.
A registered charity, we campaign to protect and enhance Teddington’s historic character and improve its built and natural environment.
