Reading groups with Richmond libraries

Looking for a fun way to share your love of reading? Join one of our libraries’ reading groups! They’re relaxed, friendly, and a great way to meet new people, get to know your colleagues, or catch up with old friends.

New LGBTQ+ book group

To celebrate the National Year of Reading, we are launching Pride & Pages, a new LGBTQ+ book group at East Sheen Library. This group will meet on the last Friday of the month and is for adults aged 18 and over.

Join us at our first meeting to discuss Loveless by Alice Oseman on Friday 27 February at 5pm. Speak to staff at East Sheen Library to request a copy of the book.

Join a library reading group

It’s free and easy. Simply pick a daytime or evening session that suits you.

Start your own reading group

Book groups don’t need to be in libraries. Borrow one of our sets and chat about books in any setting, from staffrooms to the local pub. We’ll help you get started.

Your group leader gets a special membership card, and you can borrow books for up to eight weeks.

How to register your group

Email promotions@richmond.gov.uk with:

• Your group's name
• Leader’s contact details - name, email, phone, date of birth, address
• Preferred library branch
• Number of members

Request and browse our booksets

Once you’ve registered, explore our bookset lists online (by author or title). Most sets include at least 12 copies, plus large print and CD audiobooks where available.

To request a set, email us with:

• Two or three title options
• Number of copies needed
• Library branch for collection
