Update your operational parking permit details
Let us know right away if you need to change the address or vehicle details for your operational parking permit.
Change of vehicle
Transferable permits
You will only need to apply for a new operational parking permit if the permit was issued to a Band A vehicle, but you want to use it on a non-Band A vehicle (or vice versa).
- First you will need to download and complete a change or return form, and return this to us along with your existing permit for a refund (if applicable).
- You will then need to complete a new permit application and return to us along with the required proofs and payment.
There is no charge for the first reissue of a permit due to a change of vehicle within any 12 month period. Any subsequent reissues will incur a £10 administration fee.
You can use the tear-off slip on your permit letter to park for 7 days whilst your permit is being updated.
If the permit is not returned it will be treated as lost and you may be charged a £10 administration fee. A vehicle displaying a permit declared lost will be liable for a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) if found to be using it.
Vehicle specific permits
If you change your vehicle or vehicle registration, you will need a new operational parking permit.
If both your old and new vehicles are in car tax band A, or both are not in car tax band A, your permit will just need updating:
- You will need to download and complete a change or return form, and return this to us along with your existing permit and proof to show you either own, or are authorised to drive the vehicle.
If your permit was issued to a Band A vehicle, but you want to use it on a non-Band A vehicle (or vice versa), you will need a replacement permit:
- First you will need to download and complete a change or return form, and return this to us along with your existing permit for a refund (if applicable).
- You will then need to complete a new permit application and return to us along with the required proofs and payment.

Change of address
If your organisation has moved to another address, you must complete and return a change or return form.
If the address where you carry out your duties has changed, but remains in the same Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) (or you have an 'All Zone' permit), then you need to let us know. You do not need to return your existing permit to us.
If the address where you carry out your duties has changed, to an address outside of the CPZ for which it was issued, then your operational permit/s will immediately become invalid. You must return your permit/s to us along with a completed change or return form. If you have a need to carry out your duties within another CPZ within the borough, you will need to complete a new permit application.
